Counseling Program Nominated for Award
The South Bay Union High School District has been nominated for the H.B. McDaniel Award in recognition of its counseling program for troubled teen-agers and their parents. The program includes student study teams and support groups working under the direction of counselors Darlene Gorey at Mira Costa High School and Judi James at Redondo High.
National winners of the award will be announced June 29 at Stanford University, where McDaniel taught until his death in 1972.
