More than 1.5 million Fisher-Price car safety seats for children are being recalled by the manufacturer because their foam seat pads do not meet federal flammability standards, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.

The agency said it had received no complaints of fires or fire injuries from the seats, Models 9100 and 9101 made between 1985 and 1989. Because the pad cover does meet standards, motorists should use the seats until they get replacement pads and should not return them to stores, the agency said.
