About a foot of snow fell over portions of Michigan and thunderstorms lingered in the South after dropping hail the size of baseballs in Oklahoma, the National Weather Service said. Winter storm warnings were posted over northern and central Maine, northern New Hampshire, northern Vermont and northeast New York state. The snowfall in Michigan included 12 inches at Cadillac and 11 inches at Kalkaska and Hart.
