VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE
Free help is available to taxpayers who need asistance with their income tax returns. Trained volunteers, familiar with basic tax law, are now working through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs to aid with simple returns. Although the programs are aimed at elderly, handicapped, low income and non-English-speaking taxpayers, anyone who has a simple return but needs assistance will be helped, according to the Internal Revenue Service.
