$104,310 Loss in Quarter Reported by Diodes Inc.

Diodes Inc., a Chatsworth supplier of components to the semiconductor industry, posted a $104,310 loss for its fiscal third quarter ended Jan. 31.

The loss, which compared with net income of $80,373 a year earlier, came on a 12% decline in Diodes’ sales, to $3.06 million from $3.49 million.

Diodes blamed the loss on lower demand for its products and stronger competition. The company also warned that the problems are continuing “and we do not foresee any immediate change in this condition.”

For the first nine months of its fiscal year, Diodes’ profit plunged 86% to $61,048 from $438,322 a year earlier, and its nine-month sales fell 9% to $10.7 million from $11.7 million.
