The Art Institute of Southern California has received three contributions to help match an earlier challenge grant of $450,000 from the Harry and Grace Steele Foundation. A $25,000 donation from the Margaret E. Oser Foundation will establish an Oser Foundation Scholarship Fund; $9,300 from J.B. and Emily Van Nuys Charities will be used to acquire books, periodicals and computer-based resources for the school’s library, and $1,000 from the Pacific Mutual Foundation will provide scholarships for incoming bachelor of fine arts candidates.

Three new members have been elected to Pacific Symphony’s board of directors: Albert F. Ehrke, senior vice president of a banking group in Newport Beach; Gene A. Leyton, president of a financial services organization in Brea, and Michael R. Forrest, dean of the School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University in Malibu.
