Guatemalan authorities cut off food, water and power at a prison where armed inmates were holed up for a fourth day with hundreds of people who were making Easter visits when the prisoners revolted, leaving at least seven people dead. Carlos Ramos Moncada, inspector general of prisons, said the cutoff was the only way to pressure the mutinous inmates. He said supplies and power were cut off to the area controlled by inmates. Witnesses said that as many as 100 inmates and about 600 visitors have depleted food supplies. Authorities are unsure whether the visitors support the rebels or are being held as hostages.
