Tornadoes Rip Into South

ATLANTA —
Tornadoes and fierce winds ripped through Georgia, Arkansas and North Carolina Thursday, causing some property damage but no injuries, the National Weather Service said. Witnesses near the southwestern Georgia town of Cairo said a tornado destroyed a barn and hurled one tree into a house.
