Teacher Gets Credit

I enjoyed reading the article entitled “High School Artists See Their Best at Golden West” (March 25). It was a fine tribute to the talented artists profiled. I was disappointed, however, that no mention was made of the art teacher who successfully taught nearly all the award winners.

I refer to Tom Wendt of Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove. It was no accident that his students won so many of these awards. His students consistently take top honors at juried showings and contests and they have been doing so for years--in spite of the fact that Rancho Alamitos is one of the smallest high schools in the county.
