Sierracin Corp. in Sylmar said that its fourth-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier and that its full-year 1988 earnings rose 54%.

The company, which principally builds cockpit windows and other equipment for the aircraft industry, said profit for the quarter that ended Dec. 31 climbed to $1.22 million from $530,000, and revenue rose to $21.1 million from $17.9 million.

Sierracin said its quarterly profit would have been higher had it not been for cost overruns on certain contracts and other operating cost increases.
