New Computer Models Unveiled: Compaq Computer Corp. unveiled a new line of compact desktop computers touted as offering more features than any other system in their class. The Houston-based manufacturer said its Compaq Desktop 286e computers are aimed at general business users with a need for spreadsheet, word processing and database management uses. The systems will sell at retail prices ranging from $2,699 to $3,599. The first shipments already have been delivered to dealers, the company said.
