56 Arrested in 2-Night Anti-Prostitution Sting
Fifty-six people were arrested during a two-night anti-prostitution sweep in North Hollywood, Los Angeles police said Saturday.
Female officers dressed like prostitutes waited for would-be customers at Lankershim Boulevard and Sherman Way on Thursday and Friday nights, police said. Arrested on solicitation charges were 22 men Thursday and 31 men and two 17-year-old boys Friday, police said. In addition, one woman suspected of working as a prostitute was arrested.
Police said they set up the sting operation after receiving numerous complaints from residents about flagrant prostitution in the area.
