“Roseanne’s” standing at the top of the A.C. Nielsen chart Tuesday was not enough to offset the seven shows that ABC had in the bottom 10 (not counting Fox), which helped CBS finish second in the network race last week, well behind NBC. With the so-called “official” season ending Sunday, however, it is unlikely that CBS will be able to climb out of the ratings cellar into which it plunged last year. The full list of ratings from last week is on Page 9.

* Despite its overall dominance, NBC continues to suffer on Friday nights. Its new 9 p.m. entry “Quantum Leap” ran third in the time period last week, and NBC said Tuesday that the time-travel show will be doing some real space hopping--to Wednesdays at 10 p.m., beginning May 3. Returning to the Friday schedule for a last hurrah during the May “sweeps” will be “Miami Vice.”
