Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc., Torrance, has promoted eight executives to vice presidents and reorganized some responsibilities. George E. Borst, 40, was promoted from corporate marketing manager to vice president-marketing and strategic planning. Richard J. Gallio, 46, was promoted from corporate service manager to vice president-service. J. Davis Illingworth, 45, was promoted from general manager to vice president and general manager of Lexus, Toyota’s new luxury division. James R. Olson, 47, was promoted from corporate public affairs manager to vice president-external affairs. Robert L. Pitts, 41, was promoted from general manager to vice president and general manager of Toyota Motor Credit Corp. William A. Plourde Jr., 44, formerly general counsel-business law, was promoted to vice president and general counsel with the same responsibilities. Douglas M. West, 43, formerly general counsel-product law, was promoted to vice president and general counsel-product law. John R. Turmell, 47, was promoted from corporate market representation manager to vice president-sales administration.
