Two men, including a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization officer, were arrested early today after allegedly posing as police officers and holding guns on a group of youths gathered at a Chatsworth intersection to drag race, police said.

Aaron Wilson, 26, a special agent with the INS, and Anthony Sabino, 26, a realtor, both of Chatsworth, were arrested about 2:30 a.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in the parking lot of a Carl’s Junior in Chatsworth, said Lt. L. A. Durrer, commanding officer of the Devonshire Division. Wilson was later released on $12,000 bail; Sabino remained in custody.

Several youths had gathered at the corner of Canoga Avenue and Lassen Street to watch a drag race when the two men pulled up in a car, Durrer said. After identifying themselves as police officers, but showing no identification, the two searched several members of the group at gunpoint, then followed several other members of the crowd to the parking lot at Lassen Street and De Soto Avenue, Durrer said. The men again drew their guns and had begun searching people in the parking lot when police arrived and arrested them, Durrer said.

Although no motive was given, Durrer said there were indications that the two men had been drinking.
