Leftist Sympathizers Bomb Berlin Banks
Sympathizers of jailed leftist guerrillas on hunger strikes lobbed firebombs into two West Berlin banks Friday, police said.
A spokesman said windows at both banks were smashed and the buildings suffered slight smoke damage. No one was hurt.
Police found sprayed slogans at one bank and leaflets at the other backing demands by the fasting guerrillas to be given political prisoner status and held together in one or two large groups, instead of being kept in separate cells among other inmates. Bonn has vowed not to bow to these demands.
