20 Mozambique Rebels Slain, Zimbabwe Says

HARARE, Zimbabwe —
Troops from Zimbabwe killed 20 rebels and captured eight armed children aged 10 to 14 in southern Mozambique, an army spokesman said. Zimbabwe has troops in neighboring Mozambique guarding its trade routes and fighting alongside government forces against guerrillas.
The spokesman said Friday that the right-wing Mozambique National Resistance, fighting to topple the Marxist Maputo government, is increasingly recruiting children for its campaign.
