IN BRIEF : Georgia Tech Co-Ed Sues 2 Gridders
A Georgia Tech co-ed whose nose was broken during an altercation with Tech football players at a local pizza restaurant has filed a $1-million lawsuit against two of the players and the business.
Lisa Steffee says in the lawsuit, filed Monday in Superior Court in Fulton County, that she and some fellow architecture students were at the Pizza Factory early Jan. 18 when the incident happened. Named as defendants are linebacker Kevin Salisbury, 21; offensive lineman Michael Mooney, 19, and the Pizza Factory.
Steffee claims in the lawsuit that Salisbury struck her “multiple times” in the face, breaking her nose in several places. She contends that Mooney “acted in concert” with Salisbury to help incite the attack. The lawsuit contends that the restaurant enabled Mooney and Salisbury “to become intoxicated and unruly” by selling beer at 25 cents a glass, by selling beer to a minor and by not evicting the pair when they became intoxicated.
