Extending Health Coverage
Sure, force businesses to provide health care for their employees. What about their unemployed dependents? Must the businesses provide their health care also? Surely these dependents are among the “millions”! Small businesses that are already having a hard time keeping heads above water with rising taxes, insurance, etc. would surely find this a hardship.
Also, what about their diabetic and other chronically ill employees and their dependents? Insurance companies will not touch these unfortunates with a 10-foot pole. It sounds as if there has to be some enforcement with the insurance companies also. Otherwise there will still be numerous Californians who will remain uninsured--those who need it the most.
