Jurors in the trial of fired White House aide Oliver L. North deliberated another half day without reaching a verdict on the 12 felony charges against him. U.S. District Judge Gerhard A. Gesell excused the jury of nine women and three men at midday and sent them back to the hotel where they are sequestered. After a day off today, they will resume their deliberations Monday morning. The jury had deliberated for more than five hours Friday. North’s trial, nearly three months long, is the first stemming from the late 1985-early 1986 sale of arms to Iran and the siphoning off of some of the proceeds to the Nicaraguan rebels.
