The founders of Sequoia Japan include David Schweninger, Sequoia Creative’s chief executive, and Bob Gurr, a Sequoia vice president. The subsidiary also includes a group of prominent Japanese executives, among them Makoto Yamashina, president of Bandai Co., Japan’s largest toy company.

Sequoia Creative’s projects have included the King Kong attraction at Universal Studios, a theater in a French theme park based on the Smurfs cartoon characters and a helicopter-powered spaceship that was featured during the closing ceremonies of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
