A hijacker with explosives strapped to his back blew himself up after failing to force a domestic Chinese airliner carrying 50 people to fly to Taiwan, the China News Service reported. It said two passengers were injured in the explosion during the attempted hijacking on a flight from Zhejiang province to the neighboring eastern province of Fujian. The hijacker stabbed a flight attendant in the hand before charging into the cockpit, demanding to be flown to Taiwan. However, the pilot fooled the hijacker by flying in a circular pattern before landing in the city of Fuzhou in Fujian province, it added. It said the hijacker, not identified, then blew himself up.
