Three teen-agers have been arrested in connection with the shotgun killing of a cab driver during an apparent holdup attempt in El Monte, authorities said Wednesday.

El Monte Detective Ken Whary said police and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide officers arrested David A. Aranda, 18, of Upland along with a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old Bakersfield girl at the boy’s El Monte home Tuesday night.

They were held for investigation in the death of Kenneth Gilbert Brown, 40, of West Covina, whose cab crashed after he was shot in the head shortly before midnight April 9.
