LOCAL : Santa Ana Man Drive-By Gun Victim
A 22-year-old Santa Ana man was shot to death late Sunday night in what police are investigating as a gang-related drive-by shooting.
At 10:50 p.m., police found Javier Evangelista, 22, lying on a sidewalk on the 100 block of South Hickory Street bleeding from a gunshot wound, Sgt. Jack Rife said. Evangelista was taken to Western Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before midnight.
There were no suspects in the case, Rife said, adding that gang members have often been seen congregating near where Evangelista was found.
