The Glendale City Council on Tuesday appointed Susan Curzon, a 16-year veteran of the Los Angeles County library system, as the city’s new director of library services.

Curzon, 41, who will oversee operation of the city’s six public libraries, is scheduled to take over the post vacated by Jack Ramsay, who retired in January, on June 12.

A regional administrator with the county library system, Curzon supervises 12 community libraries, a hospital library, four bookmobiles and a book mailing service.
