On April 26, Bernheimer muses: “(Previn’s) problem was simple. He seldom excited the crowd at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The crowd, moreover, was often small when he was in charge.”

Isn’t it just possible that this is more a reflection on “the crowd” than on the conductor?
