“Swamp Thing,” of course, was adapted from D.C. Comics. The parade of comic book characters continues to the big screen, with “Grimjack” and “Captain America”:

“Grimjack,” the hard-boiled detective (real name: John Gaunt), who works the mean streets of a “multi-dimensional” city named Cynosure, will come to the screen in an action-adventure produced by Howard Kazanjian.

“Captain America” is in pre-production at 21st Century Film Corp. Menahem Golan will produce; Albert Pyun (the current “Cyborg”) will direct. Casting is under way, with plans to begin filming in June in Europe. Created in the early ‘40s, Captain America is the alter-ego of Steve Rogers, a wimpy guy until zapped with a super-soldier serum.
