Not everyone curses the bombardments between Christian and Muslim gunners that has gone on for two months.

Christian shells blew down an outside wall of one of the cellblocks in the gendarmerie prison in Muslim West Beirut’s Verdun district one recent night.

The guards were in underground bunkers, and 53 of the prisoners, serving sentences for theft and drug trafficking, escaped.
