Thousand Trails Inc. announced the election of George F. Donovan as president, chief executive and a director. For the past four years, Donovan has been president of Donovan Cos., a resort development and management company based in Atlanta. John E. Shockley, who became president of Thousand Trails when 69% of the company was acquired by San Jacinto Savings Assn. in 1988, will remain with Thousand Trails as senior executive vice president. Thousand Trails, based in Bellevue, Wash., operates a membership-based campground resort system.
