Columnist to Be Honored by Living for the Living
Los Angeles Time columnist Jack Smith will be honored at the 8th annual achievement awards dinner of Alternative Living for the Aged at 6:30 p.m. June 7 in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The organization’s corporate award will go to Savings Assn Mortgage Co. (SAMCO), a coalition of 46 financial institutions statewide that has worked with private and nonprofit developers to provide affordable housing for low-income families and seniors.
Alternative Living for the Aging is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing seniors with alternatives to living alone or in institutions. It has a free roommate matching program and operates houses and apartments. Information: (213) 658-5765.
