Costa Mesa resident Jerry Allen Holland was arrested this morning for wife-beating, four weeks after he tried to run over his wife with a pickup truck, police said.

The 24-year-old Costa Mesa man was arrested at 7:30 a.m. at his home in the 300 block of Ogle Street after police received a call from his wife, Lindy Sue, who reported that her husband was assaulting her, Costa Mesa Police Lt. Sam Cordeiro said.

Holland was arrested April 19 for attempting to run over his 33-year-old wife with their two-ton pickup truck after an argument over money. Lindy Holland suffered some cuts and bruises but no broken bones from the incident, Cordeiro said. Holland was put on three years probation on May 2 by a Harbor Municipal Court judge after he pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon. Holland’s wife refused to cooperate in prosecuting him for attempted murder, Deputy Dist. Atty. Christopher Kralick said.
