SPOTLIGHT: W.O. HART PARK
Location:
Glassell Street, just north of Garden Grove Freeway, Orange.
Description:
The first park in Orange was built as a WPA project in the early ‘30s and was originally called Orange City Park. Its 24 acres straddle the bed of Santiago Creek and offer turfed areas and a variety of recreational facilities.
Facilities:
Lighted areas are provided for sand volleyball, tennis, softball (three fields), baseball and soccer. Also featured are a large picnic area, a communal fire ring, a bandshell, a rose garden, a snack bar and a community pool.
Fees:
Pool fees are $1 for adults, 75 cents for children. There are also fees for reserving sports fields and group picnic areas. The use of other park facilities is free.

Hours: Sunrise to 10 p.m. The pool is only open in summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
