Leisure Technology opens the model homes and a 20-unit increment of The Private Villas at Leisure Village Ocean Hills today, the first new homes released in five years in the active-adult community in Oceanside.

The two- and three-bedroom single-family houses are offered in five one- and two-story plans, with 1,594 to 2,630 square feet. Prices range from $254,990 to $324,990 and first move-ins are scheduled for March, 1990. The Private Villas will have 536 units when completed, according to Leisure Technology’s Joseph A. Gallagher, who added that more than 120 units were sold in Private Villas before today’s grand opening.

Designed by Berkus Group Architects, Santa Barbara, the houses are aimed at active retirees who want larger houses than are commonly offered in retirement communities, Gallagher said. At least one buyer in a household must be 55 or older. Five furnished models will be open daily 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 4681 Cyrus Way, reached from the eastbound California 78 exit of Interstate 5.
