LIFE IN L.A.

Share

I found it bitterly ironic that not one of the people that Stephen Braun interviewed in “Six L.A. Lives” was a native Angeleno. Both my husband and I are natives, as are many of our friends, and, like the people in your article, we have considered leaving the city because of the high crime rate, the high cost of living and the traffic. Unlike your interviewees, we would also be leaving extended families, longtime friends and a city that always will be home.

Not too long ago, L.A. was a nice place to live. The population explosion has turned it into a nightmare. The people interviewed fail to realize that they themselves are, at least partially, the cause of the very problems that they so eagerly criticize in this city. They can go home; we can’t.
