Melville P. Windle has been named president and chief operating officer of 20th Century Industries and its subsidiaries, 20th Century Insurance Co. and 21st Century Casualty Co. Windle, 63, has been group vice president and general counsel. He will replace Neil Ashley, 66, who will retire at the end of June. Richard A. Dinon, vice president of corporate relations, has been promoted to group vice president.
