Longtime radical Michael Delacour, who was 31 years old when he helped create People’s Park in Berkeley in 1969, appeared in court 20 years later charged with four misdemeanors stemming from a four-hour riot over the same patch of ground. After his arraignment, Delacour was freed on his own recognizance and ordered back to court on June 20, when he is expected to make a plea. The truck driver, now 51, was jailed on $12,500 bail over the weekend. He is charged with inciting to riot, participating in a riot, one count of interfering with firefighters and one count of preventing people from putting out a fire, said his lawyer, Osha Neumann.
