Sugar Traders Subpoenaed: Subpoenas have been issued to sugar traders at New York’s Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission expanded its investigation of possible trading violations at New York’s commodity markets, sources said. The subpoenas, issued last week, focused on the activities of several individual traders and Amerop Trading, a unit of the big French trading firm Sucden Kerry International, the sources said. Amerop itself did not receive a subpoena. Steven Hedrei, an Amerop vice president, declined comment.
