Treasury Note Rates Fall: Yields on two-year Treasury notes fell in Wednesday’s auction to the lowest level since October. The average yield was 8.84%, down from 9.34% at the last auction on April 26. It was the lowest rate since two-year notes averaged 8.33% on Oct. 26, 1988. The notes will carry a coupon interest rate of 8 3/4% with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,983.80. A total of $8.77 billion in notes were sold out of bids totaling $27.78 billion.
