Picnic to Honor Former Governor

Former Gov. Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr. will be honored by Ventura County Democratic Party officials at a Sunday picnic. The event, which aims to draw all Ventura County residents appointed to state positions during Brown’s eight-year term, will be held in Freedom Park at Camarillo Airport.

Brown will be present from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., a Democratic Party spokesman said. The event will feature bands, softball games and a barbecue. Admission is free, but the barbecue costs $10.
