Iran’s supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, 89, got out of his hospital bed and sat in a chair two days after undergoing surgery on his digestive tract, Tehran Radio reported. Khomeini’s doctors described his condition as very good and said he was progressing satisfactorily, according to the radio report, which was monitored in Cyprus. The internal bleeding that prompted the operation was under control, the radio reported.
