Cathay Bank to Acquire San Jose Firm: Cathay Bank has reached a preliminary agreement to acquire the San Jose-based California Security Bank for about $4.4 million. Los Angeles-based Cathay is seeking a definitive agreement for a deal with California Security, a closely held company that owns and operates one bank office. Cathay has five offices in Southern California.
