Orange County cities were left almost $22 million richer after the latest distribution of sales and use tax revenues by the State Board of Equalization. Anaheim’s more than $3 million was the largest amount given to one city, while the $15,000 disbursed to Villa Park was the smallest.

Each month city and county governments and other governmental organizations receive from the state advance payments in anticipation of actual sales tax revenues. In the fourth month they receive an adjusted amount--the difference between actual revenue and amounts previously received--plus the first advance payment for the next quarter. The amounts listed here are the third advance payment for the first quarter of 1989:
