Nuclear Attack Submarine to Be Commissioned Today

WASHINGTON — The nuclear-powered attack submarine Newport News will be commissioned into service today at the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, Va., the Navy announced Friday. Sen. John W. Warner (R-Va.) will deliver the principal address during the ceremonies.
