Saddlerock Group Inc. has named Jacques Warshauer its new president. The Long Beach-based residential and commercial developer has projects in Los Angeles, Ventura and San Luis Obispo counties. Warshauer is also chairman of Belmont Financial Corp., the parent company of Dolphin Properties.

Byrn A. Watson has been named chief operating officer of Benchmark Contractors Inc., a subsidiary of Morley Group Inc., Costa Mesa. Previously, Watson was vice president at Morley Construction Co. Benchmark has apartment/condominium and commercial projects in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

ACCOLADES: Goldy Lewis has received the 25th State Senate District’s Woman of the Year award for 1989 for service and dedication to the people of the state. Goldy and Ralph Lewis founded Lewis Homes of California, one of the state’s top builders.

Property Managers

The real estate arm of the Prudential Insurance Co. of America, the Prudential Realty Group, has named Rolf Kleinhans general manager. He will be in charge of the overall coordination, marketing, management and operations of Phase 1 of Citicorp Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. Kleinhans will also handle project management for Citicorp Plaza’s 777 Tower.

William C. Lawrence has joined the Los Angeles management services practice of Kenneth Leventhal & Co. as director of pre-development and public sector consulting services.

Investors/Lenders

David P. Saltzman has been named assistant vice president and loan officer for the western region of Heller Real Estate Financial Services, the commercial real estate finance group of Heller Financial Inc. The firm is located in Beverly Hills.

Title Firms

Larri E. Jones has been named vice president and manager of Chicago Title’s Ventura County office, where he is in charge of a 58-person staff. Jones previously was president of Trans Continental Title Co.’s operations in Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Urban Planners

Timothy C. Riley, executive director of the Business Property Council, has been appointed to the Design Review Board ad hoc committee of the Los Angeles City Planning Commission. The committee will serve for a six- to-eight-week period evaluating functions of the board citywide.

Architects

Altoon & Porter Architects of Los Angeles has promoted three associates to the title of senior associate: Gary K. Dempster, William J. Sebring and Carl F. Meyer.

Susan J. Echeverri has been named project coordinator of Douglas Smith Architects. The Santa Monica-based firm has projects on the Westside, in the South Bay and in the Caribbean.

ACCOLADES: Bob Schatz, an undergraduate in his fifth year at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, has won first prize in the Lyceum Fellowship Competition. Schatz will receive $7,000 to travel for six months to study architecture. The competition was to design an urban arena in Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park that reflects the city’s cultural history.

Brokers

Merrill Lynch Realty has named J. Richard Leyner vice president of its North Los Angeles commercial division. He will manage the Encino, Woodland Hills, Granada Hills, Sherman Oaks and Santa Clarita offices while retaining his current responsibilities as the senior branch manager of the Encino office.

John J. Brodbeck is new research director for Grubb & Ellis’ Orange County commercial brokerage offices. He will be responsible for the gathering and analysis of the commercial real estate market information in Orange County for the firm’s Newport Beach, Anaheim and South County offices.

Stephen E. Bauer, president of Newport-Beach based Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates Inc., has been elected to Coldwell Banker Residential Group board of directors. His current duties include overseeing all aspects of the company’s franchise operations.
