Black & Decker Plans to Sell Businesses
TOWSON, Md. — In a move designed to reduce the debt load assumed by Black & Decker Corp. when it acquired Emhart Corp., Black & Decker announced that it plans to sell the Dynapert and capacitors businesses it acquired as part of the takeover.
Black & Decker earlier announced its intention to sell Emhart’s information and electronics sector to reduce its debt.
Dynapert, headquartered in Beverly, Mass., is a manufacturer of automatic assembly machinery for the electronics industry for use in manufacturing home entertainment, home appliance, automotive, data processing and telecommunications products. Dynapert, with 1988 revenue of $103 million, also has manufacturing and engineering facilities in Japan and West Germany.
