The average resale price of a single-family home in San Diego County has passed the $200,000 mark, an increase of nearly 25% in one year, according to figures compiled by the Economic Research Bureau.
The average price of a single-family, detached, previously occupied home in the April Housing Price Index--the latest available--was $204,700, the bureau reported. That figure represents a 14% increase in six months since the October, 1988, average of $179,500 and a 24.4% increase in one year since the April, 1988, average of $164,500.
All 49 areas of San Diego County surveyed reported increases and nearly all appreciated at double-digit percentages, the bureau said. The largest increases were reported in La Jolla, where luxury home prices increased 60% and medium-home prices rose 47.7%, and also in the western section of Oceanside, where prices rose 50%.
