Huntington Park : Loud Car Stereos Will Be Subject to City Citation
The Huntington Park City Council on Monday unanimously approved an ordinance that makes it a misdemeanor to play a car stereo so loudly that it creates a public nuisance.
Anyone operating a car radio that is “plainly audible” at a distance of 25 feet would be in violation of the ordinance, which takes effect in 30 days, according to the text of the new city law.
City officials said loud car stereos have become an increasing problem in Huntington Park in recent years. Violators of the ordinance will receive citations similar to those issued for traffic violations.
