A potentially dangerous crib toy for infants more than 5 months old has been voluntarily recalled by the Toys R Us company, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The commission said the “Pram and Cot Baby Toy” does not carry the necessary warnings. It said older infants can push themselves up and become tangled in the toy, possibly resulting in strangulation. A spokeswoman for the Consumer Product Safety Commission said that since 1988 about 700 of the $15 toys have been sold in California. “No strangulations or injuries have been reported,” said Terri Rogers, a compliance officer for the commission. But she said the commission is concerned about the toy because there were 26 incidents involving similar products from 1973 to 1987.
