Palmdale Boy on Bike Struck by Car, Dies

An 8-year-old Palmdale boy was killed Friday when he rode his bicycle in front of a car traveling north on 27th Street East near Raven Avenue, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy said.

The boy, whose name was not released because officials were attempting to notify his relatives, was killed about 5 p.m., Deputy Dennis Diederich said.

The boy, who lived near the scene of the accident, was struck by a car driven by Fernando Ocampo of Palmdale. Ocampo, whose age was not known, was not cited.
