Shuttle Astronaut Nelson Plans to Leave NASA

HOUSTON —
Astronaut George (Pinky) Nelson, a veteran of three shuttle flights, is leaving the space agency June 30 to teach astronomy at the University of Washington in Seattle, NASA officials said Friday. Nelson, who holds a doctorate in astronomy, was aboard Discovery last Sept. 29 when it took off on the first post-Challenger mission.
